A futsal team that represents the City of Peterborough Futsal Centre (COPFC) has achieved an "amazing double" in Europe.

The Under 14 girls team travelled to the East coast of Italy to compete in one of the most prestigious events in the country, the Montesilvano Cup, where the girls were victorious winning their final on penalties after a tense 0-0 draw against a team from USA. Not conceding a single goal throughout the tournament.

Just a few days later, after travelling onto Blanes, on the outskirts of Barcelona, the girls again gained victory in the Vsport Futsal Cup demolishing their opponents in the final 9-1.

Whilst in Barcelona, the girls were joined by other COPFC teams which included boys and girls aged from u8s to u16s.

Club founder and head coach Jade Ramm said after 9 games in 11 days "they absolutely smashed it".

"They grew so much and I cannot wait to see what comes next for these fantastic young ladies."

The mixed Under-8s, competing in their first ever futsal tournament, also finished in top spot and they were joined as champions by the Under-12 girls, with the Under-16 girls also doing great, finishing runners-up.

There were final spots also in the phase B cup for the Under 10 mixed team and the Under 12 girls.

Further success came for Kyra Sudakaran (u8s), Lily Spence (u12s) and Nieve Childs (u14s) all picking up individual awards for their performances.

"The whole club did a fantastic job in representing the city on the continent and proved what a talented bunch of Futsal players Peterborough has."

"Weekends like this make me realise why I took the leap in setting up the club, spending time on tour with our fantastic futsal family - creating memories that these children will never forget.

Last weekend Futsal truly came home to the city of Peterborough."
