Peterborough Cathedral has thanked everyone who attended its Starlight light show.
The event, which was organised by Luxmuralis, helped to raise money for the cathedral, which costs £4 a minute to keep open.
Paul Stainton, head of marketing and communications at the cathedral, said: "These events are vital, not only to the cathedral but to the city centre itself; it costs four pounds per minute just to keep our beautiful cathedral open, so events like Starlight are incredibly important and we are thankful that so many people came to see it and enjoyed themselves so much.
"The cathedral is the main footfall driver in the city centre and we are pleased that our boost in footfall benefits the many other businesses in the city centre.
"It's fantastic that we can all work together for mutual benefit."
The cathedral is now preparing for its Christmas market, where there will be more than 120 stalls inside the cathedral, and food stalls outside, with around 4,000 visitors expected.
