A former EastEnders actress is set to come to Peterborough to turn on the city's Christmas lights.
Cheryl Fergison, who is best known for playing Heather Trott on the soap, will be in the city on Friday, November 22 to join in with the festivities.
Festivities will kick off at 5pm on November 22, with the light switch-on taking place at 7pm.
Cheryl will be joined for the switch on by the Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor Marco Cereste.
Local acts including Teddy Newberry, Chanel Hughes, Gabriella Pineda Rodregues, Peterborough Cathedral Choir and Peterborough Rock Choir will also be entertaining at the event.
There will be performances from The Key Theatre's Snow White cast, and the Cresset's Cinderella cast.
For the first time, Peterborough legend Eddie Nash will be performing a DJ set.
PCRFM presenters Kev Lawrence and Keith Dalton will be hosting the event, and Peterborough City Council Leader, Councillor Dennis Jones and chief executive Matt Gladstone will also be there.
Councillor Dennis Jones thanked the event sponsors for their help in raising £56,000 to cover the cost of the Christmas tree, festive lights and the switch on event.
A festive market will be running at Peterborough Cathedral from November 22 until November 23 as well.
