Volunteers and staff at Peterborough City Hospital have been hard at work to create a tribute to fallen war heroes.

The 12-strong team at the Knit and Natter Group have spent six weeks creating a post box topper to mark Remembrance Day 2024.

The topper has a poppy wreath and green leaves cascading down the side of the post box.

The group have also been knitting more than 400 red poppies, which, with permission from the Royal British Legion, will be sold on Tuesday, November 5 in the Atrium.

This latest topper replaces the most recent one, which commemorated the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the hospital. Previous toppers also include one to celebrate the 2024 Paris Olympics and D-Day.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust will be staging a number of Remembrance Day services at Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford and Rutland Hospitals on Monday, November 11.
