A Peterborough-based fashion retailer has offered a £10,000 reward after a shipping container holding thousands of hoodies was stolen.

Yours Clothing, in Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, said the container of 3,800 products was taken from a yard in Whittlesey on September 25.

Andrew Killingsworth, chief executive and founder of the brand, which has 82 stores across the UK, told the BBC he wanted those who stole the container to be caught.

An appeal on the retailer's Instagram page called on anyone who came across the products being sold in shops, on market stalls, car boot sales or online to report it.

It read: "To our loyal Yours community. We urgently need your help regarding goods stolen from one of our yards.

"A container with thousands of our Longline Fleece Zip Hoodies (Product Code: 126389), available in sizes 14-36 has been stolen.

"These fleeces are fully branded with Yours Clothing labels and are exclusively sold through our stores.

Yours Clothing added that it is taking the theft of the hoodies, which retail at £32, "seriously" and urged anyone with information to come forward anonymously.

The post added: "We are offering up to £10,000 reward for information leading us to a conviction. We will not rest until just is served."

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We were contacted on the morning of October 3 with reports a HGV container had been stolen from a business premises in Aaron Road, Whittlesey overnight.
