Rail enthusiasts and concerned passengers will have the chance to discuss their queries with rail managers at an upcoming 'Meet the Manager' event.

Organised by the Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP), the event will take place on October 11 in Whittlesey.

The CRP, which supports the Hereward Line and its stations in Peterborough, Whittlesea, March, Manea, and Ely, has arranged the event to give people the opportunity to raise questions regarding services and improvements.

The event will be held at two central locations in Whittlesey, the Town Council Chamber in Peel House and Market Square, between 9am and 12pm.

Managers from Greater Anglia and East Midlands Railway will be present to answer queries and consider feedback, which will help them enhance services in accordance with customer priorities.

The CRP will also have representatives available to discuss attractions and activities along the Hereward Railway Line.

Free refreshments will be provided in the Council Chamber.

Councillor Chris Seaton, chairman of the Hereward Community Rail Partnership and portfolio holder for transport at Fenland District Council, said: “We are excited to host the latest ‘Meet the Manager’ event in the heart of Whittlesey as part of our ongoing commitment to engaging with the community.

“These events are a fantastic opportunity for people to voice their opinions, learn more about local railway operations, and get involved in exciting developments along the Hereward Line.”

Martin Moran, Greater Anglia's commercial, customer service and train presentation director, said: “It is really important to us to hear from passengers about what matters to them and answer any questions they may have.

“We are keen to listen and understand people’s experiences so that we can work to continually improve our service and meet customers' expectations and needs.”

The Hereward CRP, managed by Fenland District Council, collaborates with train operators, railway user groups, station adoption groups and local residents to improve the Hereward Line and its stations.
