A flood warning has been issued for parts of Peterborough after torrential rain last night.
It comes as the Met Office issued an amber weather warning for heavy rain yesterday (September 26)
The 12-hour warning covered large parts of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as "slow moving showers and thunderstorms" developed through the afternoon.
Affected areas received 30-40mm of rain in three hours or less, with some at risk of 50-60mm in or around six hours.
The amber flood warning covers the River Nene between Wansford and the Dog-in-a-Doublet Sluice to the east of Peterborough.

The Environment Agency said: "Over the last 24 hours we have seen heavy rainfall in the Lower Nene area.
"This means that the River Nene is now rising, which will lead to flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the river from the morning of Friday 27 September onwards.
"We expect the river to remain high throughout the next few days and flooding to gardens, driveways or outhouses is possible close to the river.
"Our forecasts indicate that flooding inside properties isn't likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued."
It added: "We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
