A Peterborough secondary school has been forced to close after heavy rain over the weekend.
Jack Hunt School is shut today (Monday) after downpours caused damage to the building on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
It comes as an amber weather warning is in force for parts of northern Cambridgeshire including Peterborough.
A statement posted on the school's website said: "Over the weekend, due to the stormy weather, parts our fire alarm system has been badly damaged.
"We have been working hard today (Sunday) to rectify things, however it is clear that these systems will not be fixed by tomorrow morning.
"This means that the site is not safe to be occupied and therefore the school is closed to all students and staff tomorrow (Monday 23 September).
"All students will be contacted by email regarding the work that we expect them to do from home. We will keep you updated on the situation, and we will endeavour to make the school safe as quickly as possible.
"Many thanks for your support."
