A much-loved independent pizza restaurant in Peterborough city centre announced it has closed after eight years.
The Pizza Parlour and Music Cafe, on Cowgate, confirmed the news in a statement posted on Facebook on September 13.
The statement said: "It is with deep sadness that we have made the difficult decision to permanently close The Pizza Parlour Peterborough.
"We've had a fantastic run over the last eight years, welcoming people from near and far to our family-run Italian restaurant.
"We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made our time here so memorable. Best wishes, Peter & the team x".
The parlour first opened in September 2016 and prided itself on being "Italian-owned and run.
It was well-known for being the only city centre restaurant serving pizzas from a wood-fired oven while offering customers a retro music vibe from the 1960s.
Customers took to Facebook to express disappointment at the sudden closure, with one user posting: "I am beyond sad to hear this. It’s my absolute favourite place to eat! We have had some fantastic get togethers here over the years with music and laughter. So upset for you all.
MP for Peterborough Andrew Pakes added: "I’m sorry to read this sad news. Best wishes for the future."
