A raucous production of a Shakespeare play is coming to Peterborough.
Sh!t-faced Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will be performed at The Cresset on October 26.
The theatre company, which started 14 years ago, is known for its unique twist on classic Shakespeare plays, with one cast member getting drunk for each performance.
Each night, a rotating cast member will get seriously Shakespeareanly sloshed and attempt to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream as you have never seen before.
Making for a different show every night, nobody (not even the cast) knows in which direction the show will stumble.
The performance is part of a UK autumn tour, with other venues including Ipswich, Norwich, and Chelmsford.
The production is currently playing a summer season at the Leicester Square Theatre.
The cast includes Julia Bird as Puck/Hermia, Natalie Boakye as Oberon/Helena, Eugene Evans as Lysander/Demetrius, and Charlie Keable as Puck/Lysander.
They are joined by Princess Donnough as Helena/Hermia, John Mitton as Lysander and Demetrius, James Murfitt as Oberon/Demetrius, Stacey Norris as Helena/Oberon, Beth-Louise Priestley, and Stephanie Simpson as Puck/Hermia.
The production was originally directed and adapted by Lewis Ironside, with the new production being directed by Stacey Norris.
It is produced by Johanna Rigg, Stacey Norris, and Beth-Louise Priestley for the Leicester Square Theatre.
Dance choreography is by Beth-Louise Priestley, fight choreography by Robbie Capaldi, lighting design by Tom Williams, set design by Nicola Jones, costume design by Lorna Jean Costumes, photography by Andrew AB Photography, marketing by Tom McGregor, PR by ANRPR, finance by Fiona Hennessey, and based on an original concept by Rev Lewis Ironside and Cpt Chris Snelson.
Tickets for the Peterborough performance are available on The Cresset's website.
