A lithium battery caused a fire at a flat in Dogsthorpe, it has been confirmed.
Crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground along with the north roaming fire engine were called to the blaze on Dogsthorpe Road at 1.21pm on Friday (August 16).
The fire was extinguished prior to the crews' arrival.
Firefighters provided first aid to two casualties who were left in the care of ambulance crews and used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called to assist our colleagues at Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service with a flat fire in Dogsthorpe Road, Dogsthorpe, on Friday, which was found to have been started by a lithium battery.
"Fortunately, no one was injured and we were able to get everyone to safety while the fire was put out.
"It is extremely important to be aware of how to safely handle these batteries and regularly test your smoke alarms."
