Police officers in Peterborough were given the perfect remedy to cool down when temperatures reached 28 degrees yesterday (June 26).
Edward, a young boy from Peterborough, and his mum kindly handed out ice creams to the officers.
The police had been visiting a property to take statements. When they left, Edward and his mum appeared armed with ice creams to cool them down.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson said: "(We're) very grateful! And what a lovely young man!
"The boss was clearly the favourite - we all got high-fives, he got a great big hug!"
