A new term of Bollywood dance classes are due to start at the end of the month.
Local arts organisation, Jumped Up Theatre, is collaborating with the international Shiamak brand and the launch date is October 26.
The classes are for children (ages 4-7), pre-teens (ages 8-12) and women (aged 16+). Classes for children and pre-teens take place at Hampton Vale Community Centre, with women's classes at Bharat Hindu Samaj Mandir.
Shiamak dance instructor Neharika will run the lessons. Neharika has taught hundreds of students – both young and old – and was trained by India’s 'guru of Dance', Shiamak Davar.
Classes for this term will run from October to January, with additional performance opportunities for those interested.
Jumped Up’s Participation producer, Emily Steele-Dias, said: “Dance brings people together in a great activity.
"Whether you’ve done it before, or if this is your first time, there’s always fun to be found in Bollywood dance. We’ve had a fantastic response when we’ve offered classes before, and fully expect this new term to bring a fresh group of people to fall in love with the style and spectacle of Shiamak.”
Places for all Bollywood classes are now available at £6 per class per student and can be booked by the week or for the entire term. More information about the classes and the chance to book spaces can be found online at: www.jumpeduptheatre.com/shiamak-dance-classes.
