The public will have a chance to go behind the scenes and learn more about being a fire-fighter at Peterborough's Volunteer Fire Brigade open day on Sunday, July 30.
The country’s only volunteer Fire Brigade will be hosting its Summer Open Day at their station on Bourges Boulevard between 11am and 3pm.
Similar events are planned at other locations by Cambridgehsire Fire and Rescue Service at Gamlingay Fire Station on July 29 and at the Yaxley Fire Station on August 30.
Families are welcome to look around the station, meet firefighters, watch the fire engines at work – even have a go at using equipment, take part in a raffle and enjoy food and drinks from the stalls at the venue.
The event is free to attend. More information can be found here.
