The parkland area at Burghley House will be partially closed to pedestrians and unauthorised vehicles from Monday, July 31 to Friday, September 15.
This is in preparation of the 2023 Defender Burghley Horse Trials event taking place from August 31 to September 3.
The partial parkland closure is to ensure public safety during the site build and breakdown periods for this world renowned equestrian and social event. The restricted area will be clearly signposted at key points in the park.
However, Burghley House, gardens and adventure play will be open as normal during these dates with vehicle access via the main visitor entrance on Barnack Road unaffected.
Although they will be closed during the actual horse trials event taking place between August 31 to September 3.
Temporary Pedestrian Route
A temporary pedestrian route will be in place from Monday, July 31 to Sunday, August 20, to provide access on foot to Burghley House from Stamford through the parkland.
The signposted route around the perimeter of the closed area will be open daily from 7am to 8pm and takes in the iconic Lion Bridge, offering fantastic vistas of Burghley House.
