A new care home unit which underwent refurbishment costing more than £1 million has been unveiled.
Athena Care Homes has been refurbishing Milton Lodge at Ashlynn Grange Care Home in Peterborough over the last year.
The project, which will see Ashlynn Grange cater for 153 residents, has created 42 modern bedrooms with ensuite toilets.
There will also be communal areas and a café for residents and guests.
Desiree Jooste, registered home manager at Ashlynn Grange Care Home, said: “We are proud to be able to offer this newly-refurbished community for our residents and their relatives.
“We are also excited to be able to open it up to the wider community in Peterborough when we host awareness sessions and open days.”
Nick Sandford, deputy mayor of Peterborough and deputy mayoress Bella Saltmarsh toured the new facility and cut the ribbon at an open afternoon event on March 21.
Refurbished rooms will include an art deco theme, boasting large TV screens and premium rooms will have accessible doors leading to the courtyard garden.
Mala Agarwal, managing director of Athena Care Homes, said: “It is a bright and modern environment which allows our team to provide tailored care to our residents, accommodating their needs and their wishes.”
