Peterborough Cathedral is in the final of a competition to find Britain’s “#CathedralTreasures”.
The cathedral has made it into the top 10 of a competition launched by the Association of English Cathedrals on January 11 to mark national Heritage Treasures Day.
The cathedral earned their place with their painted wood nave ceiling, which is unique in England.
The contest found its competitors in OBE, author, lecturer and advisor on historic churches and cathedrals, Janet Gough’s latest volume of Deans’ Choice: Cathedral Treasures of England and Wales that detailed 50 “treasures” chosen by the Dean or senior clergy from 44 Church of England cathedrals and six cathedrals from the Church in Wales.
The AEC shared the treasures on their social media over 50 days, the top 10 treasures were chosen by the number of likes, shares, and engagements throughout the campaign.
To vote on the final winner, visit: www.englishcathedrals.co.uk
Choose one treasure, leave your name and email address. Three random voters will also win one of three copies of Janet’s book.
