A business support group is hosting a charity ball to raise funds for the NSPCC’s work in the Peterborough area.

The NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group (PBSG) has already raised around £1.2m since it was launched and the money supports the charity’s work.

And tickets are now on sale for its black tie Spring Charity Ball on April 26 at the Holiday Inn West, Thorpe Wood.

While guests will be out to enjoy themselves, everyone will also be there for a cause that helps vulnerable children in Greater Peterborough.

Chris Collier MBE, the group’s chairman, said: “The NSPCC delivers a range of interventions and initiatives through school and nursery settings to help identify, action, report and ultimately prevent cruelty of any sort to young children in our communities.”

Mr Collier added: “The objective of the Spring Charity Ball is to ensure everyone has a great time but remembers why they are there – to raise vital funds to safeguard children.”

Guests will enjoy a welcome drink on arrival then a three course dinner with live entertainment until 1am.

Auction prizes include holidays in France and Norfolk.

“Their hard work and generous donations have helped many children across the city to stay safe and protected from harm.

“Around 90 per cent of NSPCC income comes through donations, so without the support of groups like this one we would struggle to do the work we do.”
