The Amazon team in Peterborough has taken part in a fundraising event in aid of the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.
A team of 10 employees from the Amazon fulfilment centre, in Peterborough, took part in the city's annual Dragon Boat Festival, for which Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is the charity partner.
The team’s efforts resulted in a £2,000 donation to charity.
Speaking about the event and donation, Gareth Davies, general manager at Amazon, in Peterborough, said: “Sue Ryder is a brilliant charity that does important work providing care and support for people during a difficult time in their lives.
"We’ve proudly supported the charity since 2015 and team members were excited to take part in the Dragon Boat Race again this year – and they were delighted to finish in eighth place!”
"I am glad we could continue our support with fundraising efforts.”
Darren Tyler, one of the Amazon employees who nominated the charity and took part in the Dragon Boat Race, added: “We really enjoyed competing in the Dragon Boat Race.
"It was great to meet people from other organisations and to have a fun-filled day in aid of a great cause. Sue Ryder plays an important role here in the Peterborough community and I’m pleased that Amazon has chosen to support the charity once again through this donation.”
