A Peterborough care home worker and volunteer are gearing up for a charity skydive.
Lauren, an activities assistant at Hampton Grove Care Home, will be doing the sponsored skydive to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, alongside Hampton Grove volunteer Debbie.
Taking place on August 5, the pair will be diving through the clouds in a tandem skydive in honour of the residents living with dementia at Hampton Grove care home.
They aim to raise £800 with the support of sponsorship from donations.
Lauren has been an activities assistant at Hampton Grove care home for two years.
Residents, their relatives and staff at the home are all supporting Lauren and Debbie in their sponsored skydive, and will be cheering them on as they aim to beat their target goal.
Lauren said: “My goal for taking part in this challenge was to raise awareness of the fantastic job the Alzheimer’s Society does for the people and the families they support.
“Everyone at Hampton Grove has been really supportive; I’m usually a little afraid of heights but it’s for such a good cause so that keeps me focused.”
